MARCH, 2004 Hello Members, As always, I would like to welcome our newest members for this year. I hope for 2004 to be an exciting year with our Vipers. As many of you already know, the planning for VOI.8 is well under way. The location is Grapevine, Texas (just outside of Dallas) and the dates are September 9-12. A first-class hotel, The Gaylord Texan and the Texas Motorspeedway has been secured for this VOI. There will of course be great banquets, an awesome memorabilia display and an opportunity to talk to DCX executives and engineers. I have attached a copies of some of the literature put together by the Gaylord Texan. Another upcoming event will be the Tator Dodge Viper BBQ, set for May 1st with May 2nd as the rain day. Last year this event drew over 80 Vipers from the many Viper regions, not just the Northeast. I hope to see some of you there this year. Watch for your personal invitation from Chuck Tator at Tator’s Dodge. We are still trying to organize a trip to the Viper plant. With enough members a tour bus would leave early from the Pittsburgh area, take us to the plant for our tour, leave, and head back all in the same day. It would be on a Friday in April or May depending on open Plant dates. Please, if you are interested, email me by March 27th. The All-Chrysler Nationals will be held in Carlisle, PA again this year. Our club will sponser the event on July 9, 10 and 11th held at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Don’t forget to make your room reservations early if you are planning on attending. Anyone with ideas for events upcoming for this Summer across either state, please contact me. The print version of this newsletter also contained the official nomination form to be completed and returned by May 1st. You can also fax (724-776-3720) or email these nominations. After all the nominations are received you will then be receiving a ballot for voting. The term for new club officers will start January 1, 2005 and be for a two-year term. You can nominate yourself or anyone you feel would accept the position. I will not accept nominations. I feel that I have not been able to commit the amount of time necessary for the club due to the hours required by my regular job. I would like to see someone take over these officer positions who can enhance the club to a further extent. I and my wife, Donna would be willing to continue with any help we could give. We joined the Viper Club in 1995 and it has been all fun and excitement. We made many great friends and want to see this continue. Happy Vipering, Rege Kort, 322 S. Camp Run Road
